There was a record turn-out for the French Open Fun Tournament on Sunday, 6th June.  A great morning's tennis followed by cheese and wine was enjoyed by all.

FLOODLIGHTS

The floodlights on courts 1 to 3 have been replaced and are now up and running with works finishing a few days earlier than planned despite the problems experienced getting the footings out without causing undue damage to the court surface. The cost to replace the floodlights was approx £30K, however, it was decided to do this rather than spend money having the lights repaired as they were 25 years old and it was inevitable that they would need replacing in the not too distant future.

The lights (courts 1 to 3) are operated differently than they were before. They are not token operated and are turned on and off by switches in the kitchen which are labelled. Members are kindly asked to ensure that the lights are switched off when they leave the club if the courts are no longer being used - they are very expensive to run!

Please would all members using the floodlights either during a club session or outside of a club session ensure they pay the floodlight fee. Many thanks.
